Grimm’s Ferry Trails began as a happy accident in my work with the Michigan State University College of Education. For over a decade, I had the privilege of taking teachers and future teachers from around the world out of the classroom and into the heart of Michigan—and sometimes far beyond. What started as a practical way to help visitors see more than campus quickly became the delight of my life.
Along the way, I discovered that the Midwest—especially its backroads—is full of quiet wonders: Great Lakes that look like oceans, towns with only one stoplight but three ice cream shops, and diners where locals still greet you like a long-lost cousin. These trips weren’t just sightseeing; they were cultural exchanges on wheels, with stories flowing as freely as the coffee refills.
Now, I’m leaning into what I love most: ferrying curious souls down roads less traveled. Whether you want a weekend escape, a deep dive into local history, or just the best donut within 100 miles, Grimm’s Ferry Trails is your ticket—with plenty of scenic detours and good conversation along the way.
I enjoy setting the table and lighting the fire (and then cooking on it!)
I want to ensure your time spent with me is delightful and delicious!
